Here are the polyurethane bushings
for the lower control arms. They include new bushing shafts. |
|
Using the supplied lubricating
grease, put a thin film over the entire inside diameter of the control arm sleeve |
|
Also grease the new bushing,
on both inside and outside horizontal surfaces. |
|
We used our bushing removal tool
configured as shown to push the new bushings in. The polyurethane
bushings install very easily compared with the old rubber bushings. |
|
Here is the same setup with
the tool as the bushing is pressed into place. |

Here is the Installed bushing |
|
Now install the bushing shafts.
It's easier to install the bushings without the shafts, then push them
in later. |

Here are the lower control arms
with bushings and shafts installed |

Once the bushings are in
place, you can reinstall the lower control arms onto the truck. Do not
tighten them up all the way until the suspension is set at ride height.
If you torque the lower control arms in their lower position, the
bushings will preload when you put your truck back on the ground and
that will cause accelerated wear and poor handling. |
