John started to tear into his truck in 1996 after a speaker wire shorted out in the cab. Over the next few years, what started out as a daily driver slowly turned into the show stopper that you see before you today.
John began by disassembling the entire truck from it's chassis. Next he stripped the cab down to bare metal in preparation for some mild body modifications. One afternoon John and his brother Harold felt a little crazy, so they started to weld up things on the truck. Before they knew it, the factory cab emblems, body moldings, door handles, key locks, cab seam, gas hole, and maker lights were all missing.

Once the body modifications had been performed on the cab, it was time to start on the bed. The factory bed stake pockets, body moldings, and emblems were removed to give it the same sleek appearance as that of the cab.

To smooth off the back of the truck, John used a Bell Tech handle kit to move the tailgate handle to the inside the tailgate. With the tailgate handle relocated, a one piece tailgate skin was laid over the entire tailgate and welded into place. A Sir Michael's steel roll pan completes the rear of John's truck. The bed was then topped of with a custom-made tonneau cover from Checker Products.
With the body work, it was finally time to lay down some color. With the truck still in pieces, John and his friend Jason mixed up the Torch Red PPG paint and went to town. These guys sprayed everything that they possibly could. Even the truck frame and suspension components were either painted or powder coated.
